About Sian Evans
Sian Evans is a British artist, jeweller and designer working in Dorset. 2026 marks her 40th year in practice. Her celebrated and multi award winning work has encompassed many niches in the world of jewellery, from fashion jewellery to academia, fine jewellery and many collaborations. Her research and practice reflects her lifelong interests in archaeology, geology, ethics, technology and process. Her work embodies ancient aesthetics whilst being a contemporary conversation with jewellery and archetypes. Sian uses recycled gold, silver and gemstones and making processes that include goldsmithing and lapidary. Recent work incorporates British hard-stones, pieta dura, cameo and intaglio carving.

These images are from recent collections ‘Meta’, an exploration of Archetypal ring forms and ‘Tanis’ after the ancient Egyptian city. A collection of carved Hardstones with 18ct Gold. The Hardstones, a selection of Native British flint and hematite, agates and jaspers, come only from surface deposits, collected from the landscape, fields and beaches in Dorset and Somerset and from locations in Scotland, Campsie Fells and from the Burn Anne, the most precious of the Scottish Agates beloved of Queen Victoria. Most of the gold is sourced from old pieces of jewellery , reworked and alloyed by me.
