About Sarah Herriot

Born in Edinburgh, raised in New Zealand, Sarah has been based in London since 1984. She continues to expand her knowledge and technical dexterity from her workshop at Cockpit Arts.

Sarah’s first career was as a banking software designer in the city. Many jewellery and silversmithing short courses and night classes later she began to run her jewellery business alongside the city job, finally going fulltime in 2005.

Sarah’s pieces are elegant, decisive and tacitly confident. Her creative strength comes in enduring original modern designs with a perfect balance of form and style.

Sarah continues to develop and expand her own original collection in silver and gold and carefully selected gemstones.

Sarah employs many different techniques in her work, from hand forging 24ct gold earrings all the way through to her skill in cutting edge 3D CAD technology (3D drawing on computer), which stems from her earlier career. The CAD technology has allowed Sarah to create her strong elegant forms, giving her defining signature style.

Engineering and problem solving play their part in Sarah’s designs and her solutions are as much part of each piece as the design itself.
