Ruth Laird

About Ruth Laird

Ruth Laird’s angular jewellery takes inspiration from geometry, architectural structures and abstract perspectives. From her Glasgow based studio, Ruth works primarily with Sterling Silver, playing with shape outlines and folded angles to create abstract pieces, sometimes incorporating some kind of engineered element, such as a swivelling or sliding part. By embellishing pieces with unique applications of gold foil or layers of spray paint, her work aims to combine a sense of measured precision with artistic expression.
