Mark Newman

About Mark Newman

Mark has been designing and making jewellery since 2011 exploring many different design methods and techniques. It wasn’t until 2017 when he discovered he had a very rare but interesting condition called Aphantasia, a neurological disorder which leaves him completely unable to visual within his mind. Having learned that he experiences creativity and imagination differently to his peers he was able to deduct a unique design method. Being unable to imagine his designs he developed a none visual approach where he sets out a series of rules which his pieces follow, similar to that of a computer algorithm.
