About Lucy Martin
Lucy Martin is a well established, South London based jeweller, specialising in contemporary pieces using coloured and unusual gemstones. She trained at Birmingham School of Jewellery and Central St. Martins, setting up her workshop at Cockpit Arts, Deptford in 2002. Lucy uses fine jewellery techniques to create carefully constructed pieces with balanced asymmetry. Handcrafting and a focus on the details ensures that the technical specification of Lucy’s work matches its beauty. Working directly with several gem dealers in the UK and India, Lucy is able to source the most unusual cuts and colours of stones for every piece.

Lucy approaches the development of a new piece holistically. Her starting points are diverse and she draws inspiration from textiles, architecture and sculpture as well as from her own archive of work. Often, the discovery of a beautiful gemstone will provide the initial spark for the creation of a new piece. Using SMO gold and oxidised silver in soft matt and satin finishes, the pieces that Lucy creates are sleek and sensuous, elegant and sophisticated. Lucy is delighted to undertake commissions, working one-to-one to create highly personalised, one-of-a-kind jewellery.
