Laura Williams

About Laura Williams
Based in rural Oxfordshire, Laura creates distinctive jewellery using sterling silver and 18 carat gold. Her work blends a contemporary design aesthetic with traditional craftsmanship and classic fine jewellery shapes.
Inspired by the concept of a bed of nails, she sculpts wires, filing the ends to create new surfaces, textures and patterns.
Laura’s work explores contrasts between the modern and the traditional, the rigid and the organic, form and lightness and surface finish and colour. The play of light on the wire ends brings each piece to life and beautiful organic forms emerge from structured grid patterns.
