Meet Jo
Jo Pond uses traditional bench skills alongside laser welding technology, to marry the sometimes unconventional and unwanted with precious metals and stones. She creates bespoke jewellery which is thoughtfully curated, with a poetic sensibility and a strong narrative of the domestic.
A storyteller and a poet, a collagist and an artist, Pond re-frames relics from everyday life which bring their own history and associations. “Combining the worthless with the valuable, negating the hierarchy between them, she creates pieces with the power to enchant and fascinate, imbued with lasting value as art.” Veiteberg J, In.ti.mate, BCU, Birmingham.
