About Jo Hayes Ward
Jo describes her designs as ‘metamorphic’, their aesthetic hinting at geological form. Designs are endlessly versatile; rings stack for impact, necklaces layer delicately, earrings transform. Multiple elements and textures combine to create truly original compositions with an architectural yet organic feel.
Harnessing how light reflects off delicate golden blocks and their facets is the magic of Jo’s designs. Pieces come alive when worn, shimmering like dappled light on water. Gems complement glistening cubes and patterned formations beautifully. Scattered diamonds sparkle, enhancing metal structures with their cuts and colours, while unique precious gems and rose-cut diamonds render one-of-a-kind pieces utterly spellbinding.

Jo initially crafts her designs in a digital environment. The design is then 3D printed in wax before being cast in gold and meticulously hand finished in Jo’s studio. An important aspect of her designs is to harness machine marks and exploit them as an aesthetic; the textured surfaces add elegance and depth to the jewellery.
Jo strives to run her business as sustainably as possible. Working only with 100% recycled or fair trade precious metals, Jo personally selects every gem that is used in JHW jewellery, purchased through reputable and trustworthy suppliers and fully traced to source where possible.
