Clio Saskia

About Clio Saskia

Clio creates exotic fine jewellery inspired by the diversity of life, celebrating our fascinating natural world in precious treasures. With a commitment to craftsmanship delivered with a playful aesthetic, she creates refined pieces full of life and movement to entertain and surprise. Clio’s process draws on her background in sculpture, focusing on detailed carving paired with traditional gold- and silversmithing techniques to playfully capture unusual creatures and their unique characteristics. Clio’s award-winning work is made using recycled 18ct yellow gold, and gemstones which she herself discovered and mined on her small claim in the Australian Gemfields.

Clio intricately sculpts pieces in wax, each element delicately carved by hand, and then casts them in precious metals using the lost wax process, a technique dating back over 6000 years. Alongside eye catching textures and flowing forms, Clio hand crafts each piece with an innate consideration for comfort. She works in collaboration with her clients to design highly personal jewellery, creating brand new pieces as well as working with clients on heirloom redesigns to give much-loved, sentimental pieces a new lease of life.
