Beth Chesser
About Beth Chesser
Beth Chesser is an independent jewellery designer creating sculptural fine jewellery that explores form, light, and perception. Drawing on a background in sound, photography, and digital media, she approaches each piece through composition, rhythm, and spatial experience. Her work combines contemporary design technologies with traditional goldsmithing, creating collections, bespoke commissions, and one-of-a-kind pieces defined by thoughtful craftsmanship, refined simplicity, and an enduring connection between object and wearer.
Maker Enquiry Form
Central to Beth’s practice is layering, inspired by early multiplane animation and Beth’s musical background. Stepped and stacked forms create a sense of movement as light refracts and shifts across surfaces, lending the work a quiet, cinematic dynamism. Pieces evolve through a hybrid process of hand sketching, maquettes, and 3D modelling, before being cast and finished by hand. This dialogue between digital control and tactile intuition allows for nuanced outcomes. The work is intentionally limited in scale, supporting ongoing experimentation and the continued refinement of a distinct sculptural language.
