An Alleweireldt
About An Alleweireldt
An Alleweireldt’s collectable pieces of jewellery demand a closer look. There is always more to them than meets the eye.
An studied at the prestigious Royal College of Art, winning the Armourers and Braziers Prize for Innovative Work.
All pieces are made by hand in her London studio, selling through her own brand, Ox ̽ Jewellery, with careful consideration for materials. She uses sterling silver, 18ct gold and platinum, most of which is 100% recycled. Her gemstones are often ethically sourced.
She does a lot of commission work, examples of which can be seen on her website.

An’s main inspirations are materials and the wearer themselves. In particular, the possibilities of materials, and their restrictions, provide An with endless ideas.
Having a product design background in addition to jewellery, ergonomics and functionality are high on An’s agenda.
She initially sketches rough ideas, but often ends up working in CAD (computer-aided design) to allow herself to be more precise when testing new concepts.
Pieces are then made through a combination of hand-working and casting.
