Helena Russell

About Helena Russell

Sheffield-based silversmith Helena Russell designs and creates pieces with the intention to invite touch and interaction through unique mechanisms, form and multiple parts. This ranges from boxes and vessels to candlestick holders and jewellery. Throughout her practice Helena uses a combination of sterling silver and base metals which have been decoratively finished using patination. This process, of patination, transforms the metal surfaces into varied patterns and colours from vibrant blues and greens to deep purples and greys. This approach to metalwork results in pieces that are both functional and impressionable, each with its own story of craftsmanship and transformation.
