As part of our 2017 talks programme, Corinne Julius, jewellery authority and curator, discussed new forms and finishes in silver and the joys of working in metal with silversmiths Adi Toch and Ane Christensen.
Adi Toch’s work is exhibited internationally and included in major public collections such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, National Museums Scotland, National Museum of Wales and The Jewish Museum, New York. She recently won a 2017 Wallpaper* Design Award and was shortlisted for Loewe Craft Prize. In 2013 she received a gold award from The Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council.
Ane Christensen grew up in Denmark, and set up her practice in London in 1999 after completing an MA in metalwork at the Royal College of Art. She has lectured in art colleges in both UK and South Korea. Her work is represented in the Victoria and Albert Museum, Crafts Council, Goldsmiths’ Company and Birmingham Museum collections.
