About Elsa Tierney
Trained in jewellery making with a degree in Fine Art at Sir John Cass, Elsa incorporates influences of modern art and combines them with traditional methods of jewellery making. Inspired by Art Deco, Bauhaus and Futurist design, with a quality reminiscent of ancient Egyptian & ethnic jewellery. Elsa’s creations are an homage to modern artists of 1930’s Paris, Brancusi, Man Ray and Picasso as well as British artists Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth. Specializing in wax carving, an ancient process used both in jewellery making and bronze casting, Elsa creates sculptural jewellery, to be displayed and exhibited on the body.
