About Rie Taniguchi

Rie is a Japanese born designer maker, working and living in London.

She trained at London Guildhall University where she gained an MA in silversmithing, jewellery and allied crafts in 1998.

An accomplished maker, Rie has won many awards including the first prize at Lapponia the Art competition in Finland, and the
Setting Up Scheme and a Research Trip to Japan, both from Crafts Council.

A Goldsmiths’ Fair exhibitor since 2007, other exhibitions include Loot:MAD about Jewelry 2017 at Museum of Art and Design New York, Chelsea Crafts Fair and Collect. She has been included in exhibitions internationally including at Contemporary Applied Arts (UK), Mobilia (USA), Galerie Elsa Vanier (France), Arai Atelier/Gallery (Japan), Kimlai Fine Jeweller (Hong Kong).
