Melissa is silversmith exploring traditional silversmithing techniques such as hammer raising and forging. She uses hammer marks and oxidization to create different surface textures and visual interest, often complementing the metal objects with contrasting materials such as wood and concrete.
Melissa graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2014 with an MA in Metalwork and Jewellery Design. She is a member of the Contemporary British Silversmiths, and also participated in the 2016 Crafts Council Hot House programme.
