About Catherine Martin

From sounds of classical music to Japan and beyond are the sources of her jewels
moving from silk to gold using ancient techniques resulting in textures and forms
found nowhere else. Her work can be seen throughout its metamorphosis from her
first piece of jewellery collected by the V&A, three necklaces commissioned by the
Goldsmiths’ Company, further pieces in the Royal Museum of Scotland, Birmingham Museum, Museum of Art and Design in New York, Museum of Fine Art in Boston and in many other public and private collections. Recent solo exhibitions:
Scottish Gallery, Edinburgh 2018, Gallery Scheytt, Munich, 2020.
