Join curator Janice Hosegood as she talks to Ane Christensen about her experiences of the last year and the projects that she has been involved in.
Ane Christensen grew up in Denmark and came to the UK in 1993 to study jewellery design and work as a silversmiths’ assistant. She established her practice after graduating from the Royal College of Art in 1999. Ane’s metalwork explores themes such as optical illusion, balance and contrast. She works with a range of metals, often combining them in unexpected ways. Her work is represented in several major museum collections including the V&A, the Crafts Council, Koldinghus Museum DK and the Goldsmiths’ Company Collection. Ane lives and works in East London.
Janice Hosegood is a writer, curator and a contemporary jewellery authority. She’s co-author of ‘Barbara Cartlidge and Electrum Gallery’ published by Arnoldsche, has written frequently for Goldsmiths’ Review and Goldsmiths’ Stories. Janice curated ‘The Art of Collecting’ exhibition at Goldsmiths’ Fair in 2019 and been involved with significant projects at the Crafts Council, the Victoria and Albert Museum and Ruthin Craft Centre. Janice is currently Head of Communications at Cockpit Arts.
