Contemporary British Silversmiths is the leading association for contemporary silver in the United Kingdom and is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year. They are a membership organisation that inspire creativity and promote excellence in design and craftsmanship in silver.

The association was set up in 1996 with the aim of raising the profile of the unique craft of silversmithing through public exhibitions. Over the last 25 years, the association has supported silversmiths at all stages of their careers, developing skills and promoting silver nationally and internationally. Contemporary British Silversmiths is dedicated to preserving, maintaining and advancing our historic practice of silversmithing with the furtherance of contemporary design.

In promoting the design and creativity of the silversmith, it has worked closely with leading organisations such as the The Goldsmiths’ Company, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Christie’s, Bonhams in London and the Silver Trust Collection at Downing Street to create bespoke exhibitions that support its aims of promoting contemporary silver to a global audience.
